Rob's religious art spree.

Robbie Williams has paid a graffiti artist £30,000 for a controversial painting of the Nativity scene. It shows Mary and Joseph blocked from getting to Bethlehem by a graffiti wall — mimicking the Israeli barrier round the Palestinian territories. Robbie spotted the painting by art hoaxer Banksy in a London gallery and bought it for his Chelsea home. Other stars who snapped up 30-year-old Banksy’s work include Jamie Oliver and Damon Albarn.

Robbie Williams Wants In On Space Travel.

Pop singer Robbie Williams wants to fly into space. The 31-year-old singer is desperate for Sir Richard Branson to invite him on the Virgin Galactic SpaceShip when it goes into orbit in 2010.
A ticket for the interstellar trip costs just £115,000 (about US $200,000) per person. However, Robbie might not have to go into space to meet aliens — he's already admitted he thinks they'll come to us one day.
Williams told Britain's BBC Radio 2: "I've been dreaming every night about UFO's, every night. I can't wait to go to sleep at night because those dreams have been so brilliant. I think they are definitely on there way, seriously. Mark my words. From now until 2012 — watch out kids."

Is Bond expecting Robbie Williams?

(Show Me the Way to) Amarillo songwriter Tony Christie has written the song, and he hopes that Robbie will follow in the footsteps of Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Sheryl Crow by singing the theme tune to Britain's most famous spy's next exploits.
Christie said: "Robbie's voice would suit it down to the ground - plus he's current and hip so it would be absolutely great if he did it. We tried to make it a typical Bond theme tune with a throbbing dramatic bassline filling the background.
"I'm a huge fan of the old school 007 songs like Shirley Bassey with Goldfinger and Tom Jones singing Thunderball, so I tried to give it that authentic sound."
Recording is likely to begin in February, so Robbie's going to have to make up his mind if he's going to appear in the title sequence for Casino Royale.
If he does take on the song, it won't be the first time the former Take That star has brushed shoulders with 007.
In Williams's hit single, Millennium, he famously sampled the Bond theme tune, You Only Live Twice.
He also dressed like James Bond on his second album, I've Been Expecting You, which was named after many a Bond villains' catchphrase.

Robbie once again for UNICEF.

With each minute that passes a child dies of AIDS and four young people become infected with the virus. UNICEF’s new global HIV/AIDS campaign ‘Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS’ calls for a collective and global response against HIV/AIDS, not only because of the extraordinary threat it poses to children but also because it is preventable.
As an ambassador for UNICEF, Robbie has paired up with David Beckham to raise awareness of the millions of children across the world who are losing out because of HIV/AIDS. Viewers of CNN and MTV will be able to see the 30 second video message from the two stars pledging their support to the campaign and appealing to viewers worldwide to join them. The video message will be available to view here from Monday 5th December.

"Poland Loves Robbie".

For the second time the "Poland Loves Robbie" campaign has gone live. The first one was organised in January 2004, now after a 2 year gap, it's time to remind ourselves what it was like.

To take part in the campaign, polish fans will send letters to Robbie's mangers. In the letters fans will write about how they love the artist, but mainly they will remind Robbie about themselves and especially, that they are waiting for another concert in Poland. It is particularly important now, as none of the Polish cities are on the tour list for 2006.

Red and white envelopes with "Poland Loves Robbie" written on them are going to be sent between the 28th and the 30th of November 2005, to Robbie's manegment in London.

Aching back for good.

Take That want their old bandmate Robbie Williams to return for a one-off gig during their UK stadium tour next year. Robbie called the boys to make his peace ten years after they split up — and gave them his blessing for their 11 dates next April and May. JASON ORANGE, GARY BARLOW, MARK OWEN and HOWARD DONALD promise a return to their energetic dance routines — even though they’re all now in their 30s and admit they may not even cope with rehearsals. And just in case the biggest showman of them all takes up their offer, they are going to leave an extra microphone backstage. It just so happens Robbie has April and May off during his world tour. Perfect timing. Mark said: “If he wants to come up and sing a song he’s more than welcome.” The recent ITV1 documentary helped to heal old wounds between Robbie and his old pals. Jason said: “I spoke to Robbie a couple of times last week. He’s delighted for us and, I think, a bit wistful.” The group announced their plan to reform at a Press conference in London yesterday — just like I predicted.
The tour starts in Newcastle on April 24, ending at the Belfast Odyssey on May 14. Tickets go on sale next Friday. The lads will be paid £1.5million each — and Jason is still pinching himself about the deal. He said: “It might be a wonderful thing and create some nostalgia. Or it might be crap — but it worked the first time around.” And he grinned: “The money was an important factor.” The boys start rehearsals in February. But their biggest worry is how they are going to re-enact the outrageous dance routines. Mark admitted: “I was exhausted just watching the old shows.” And Howard, the eldest at 37, fears his creaking limbs won’t cope with his old breakdancing stunts. He said: “It’s going to be tough. I worry my knees will give way.” Take That — who had eight No1 hits including Back For Good — promise a stage spectacular.
And they took a swipe at their “boring” competitors. Gary said: “Westlife are OK but they don’t match what we did on stage.”

Robbie Williams smashes world record.
Robbie Williams has smashed a Guinness Book World Record by selling more than 1.6 million tickets for his upcoming world tour in just one day. Williams has snatched the record from Justin Timberlake's former band NSync. The boyband sold a million tickets, valued at $23.4m, in one day five years ago.The tickets sold for the Robbie Williams concert on the first day of sale have been valued at an estimated £80m. Advance tickets sales on the star's official website were not included in the record-breaking figure. The former Take That star will feature in the 2007 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. Craig Glenday, editor of the book, said: "We are thrilled that Robbie has brought home this highly prestigious and much celebrated record - it's a proud day for British pop music." Williams already holds the record for the most Brit Awards won by any individual, after picking up 15 of the awards.

Why Not Breaking America As Been Good For Robbie Williams

Last week whilst in a news conference in Zocola, Mexico City's central plaza for the Oye! music awards, Robbie Williams stated he no longer had any interest in breaking America, and that he wouldn't be releasing his latest album, Intensive Care, in the states or promote it there.
"America has never really been the end piece of the jigsaw for me. I live in America. Nobody knows me there. I can pick my nose, and get away with a lot of things that I wouldn't be able to get away with in the rest of the world, and then everywhere else I go I'm a pop star. And it's fun - it's like being Batman."  (...)

"Advertising Space" video.
"This is my 'True Romance' song (...) the one where, like Christian Slater in the film, I like to believe I have direct access to Elvis Presley every now and then" says Williams about the "Advertising Space". Robbie jokingly describes it as his own 'Candle In The Wind'. The amazing video for "Advertising Space" beautifully directed by David LaChapelle shows Robbie as you've never seen him before in a moving tribute to his hero Elvis Presley! The video is available to view in full for the first time at www.whatsyourfuture.com.
