T-Mobile as Robbies' partnership.

T-Mobile announces today a long-term partnership with rock icon Robbie Williams which will stretch over the next 18-months and will include exclusive mobile music offerings, tour activities and T-Mobile Robbie Williamsinternational advertising campaigns to bring subscribing fans closer to Europe’s number one artist than ever before.

The T-Mobile partnership with Robbie Williams will combine exclusive mobile content such as concert live-streaming and full-track downloads with opportunities to get close to Robbie himself through VIP tickets and hospitality, backstage tours and after show parties. T-Mobile customers can look forward to must-have Robbie Williams ringtones, Realtones, wallpaper and logos. Another element to the partnership will be international television advertising campaigns in T-Mobile European markets.

A household name in Europe with chart-busting hits such as "Angels", "Millennium" and "Rock DJ", Robbie Williams’ albums have sold to more than 51 million fans across the globe. Robbie’s last concert tour in 2003 was attended by over 1.6 million people and his recent triumphant return to the stage at Live 8 in London was considered the show’s highlight. He holds a record breaking 15 BRIT awards and was voted "Best British Pop/Rock Male Artist" by the 2003 World Music Awards. Through the partnership, T-Mobile customers will have the chance to hear truly exclusive content.

As the music industry evolves to fit the advances in mobile technology, partnerships between artists and mobile operators are becoming more common. The relationship between T-Mobile and Robbie Williams proves to be unique because it is the first partnership between a mobile operator and a music artist for such a length of time and to include such a broad range of activities and mobile music offerings for customers.

“The future is music by mobile - T-Mobile is making it happen today”, comments Robbie Williams.

"Partnering with a global star such as Robbie Williams while creating a unique experience for his fans, truly demonstrates our commitment to strengthening the relationship between music and mobile technology. Our partnership will use new technology such as live-streaming and full track downloads to bring fans closer to Robbie’s music while enhancing their overall mobile music experience," said Ulli Gritzuhn, Chief Marketing Officer, T-Mobile International. "Our goal is to make mobile music accessible, exclusive and enjoyable, which is why partnering with the biggest artist in Europe is a great fit. We look forward to having Robbie be an ambassador for the T-Mobile brand and the opportunity for delivering more ways for our customers to enjoy mobile music with one of their favorite artists."

The partnership will also incorporate mobile devices from Sony Ericsson. Some of these devices will come with embedded Robbie Williams content such as unreleased tracks and the offer of a free download.

T-Mobile customers will soon be able to take advantage of new services such as full track downloads, which will launch in some markets in the next coming months. The partnership with Robbie Williams will enable T-Mobile to reach core target audiences that are important to growing the company’s overall market presence. All mobile music content offered will give subscribing fans the chance to hear and see their favorite artist in a new and exciting way - and to be the first.

Robbie goes reggae.

The new Robbie Williams album will be heavily influenced by his love of reggae, according to reports. "Intensive Care", which is due in October, is to be preceded in the same month by a single that will showcase Robbie's attempt to move away from rock and pop. A 'source' in the Robbie camp told The Sun that the pop superstar would be offering a "modern twist" on the genre with his new material. He explained: "Robbie's been listening to a lot of dub and reggae and was inspired to try it himself. "When he sang it for the first time, those who heard it compared it to a young Bob Marley. He has given the reggae sound a modern twist and his voice really suits the music." Meanwhile, Robbie is said to be about to shell-out £3.5 million on an idyllic country manor in the Lake District, around 20 miles from the home of former Take That bandmate Mark Owen. The house, which was originally a hotel, has nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms and nine acres of land. Robbie is understood to have sold his London home last month.

Pop hunk ROBBIE WILLIAMS is regretting covering his body in tattoos and is considering surgery to remove them. The ROCK DJ star is notorious for his body art, but he's bored of looking at them every day and yearns for his ink-free body. He complains, "I do like getting them done but I wish it was like an Etch-a-Sketch where I can wipe them all out and start again. "It would be nice to have a pure, clean body again."

"Live 8" concerts to fight poverty.

Live 8 Robbie WilliamsFive concerts will take place on July 2 at Hyde Park in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the Circus Maximus in Rome and the Museum of Art in Philadelphia. Under the title "Live 8," the concerts - which will be free - are aimed at raising awareness of poverty just before leaders of the Group of Eight industrialized nations meet in Scotland. Geldof said Tuesday the concerts would be different from Live Aid in 1985. Those concerts - held in London and Philadephia - raised more than $100 million for famine relief. "It couldn't be about charity any more. We knew too much," the Irish rock star told a news conference in London. "We arrived here today because I was very reluctant to do this again, I couldn't see how anything could possibly be better than that glorious day 20 years ago, almost perfect in what it achieved and the day itself." Geldof said the G8 summit presented a unique opportunity "to do something unparalleled in the world, and especially at the beginning of the 21st Century, and that is to tilt the world a little bit on its axis in favor of the poor, and that's not a difficult thing to do." Those scheduled to perform at the London concert include: Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Dido, Elton John, Keane, Annie Lennox, Madonna, Muse, REM, the Scissor Sisters, Joss Stone, Stereophonics, Sting, Snoop, U2 and Robbie Williams.
Among artists set for Berlin are A-Ha, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Lauryn Hill and Brian Wilson. The concert in Rome will feature Faith Hill and Duran Duran, while in Paris the bill will include Jamiroquai, Craig David, Youssou N'Dour and Yannick Noah. In Philadelphia, the scheduled acts are the Dave Matthews Band, Puff Daddy, Jay-Z, Bon Jovi, Will Smith and Stevie Wonder. British Prime Minister Tony Blair has campaigned to help Africa during the UK's presidency of the G8 this year and will host leaders at a summit July 6 to 8 in Gleneagles in Scotland. But campaigners fear discord between G8 nations on debt reduction and aid spending plans, combined with reluctance in Washington, will wreck Blair's ambitions. They warn African schools and hospitals could receive no new money from the lavish summit, which could cost as much as £100 million ($180 million) to stage, Reuters reported. "We are really concerned that we're a long, long way away from any kind of breakthrough on tackling poverty in Africa," said Oxfam policy adviser Max Lawson.

Wax version of Robbie Williams.

Those who have dreamt of getting near enough to Robbie Williams to put a twinkle in his eye, now can, with Madame Tussauds' latest interactive attraction. Yes it's true! As from May 25th 2005, the waxwork museum based in London will now feature a kissable Robbie! Following excessive (wo)man-handling from adoring fans, Robbie’s old figure had been removed from display. All the fondling, caressing and grabbing had obviously left him worn out, ragged round the edges and in need of some tlc. But Robbie's new waxwork is a little bit different than all the rest. It's an interactive figure that just wants to get up close and personal with his doting public... If your puckering skills meet with Robbie's approval, a mischievous "twinkle" appears in his eye. Not only that, but Robbie's hit 'She's the One' also blasts out of the speakers and the kisser's image is projected onto a giant plasma screen!
