Robbie’s Video Competition.

Robbie Williams is collaborating with seven different filmmakers to create seven original short films using the tracks from his new album Rudebox. Now he is inviting all the independent filmmakers out there to provide the eighth for his track The 80’s. The winner, chosen by Robbie Williams and other industry greats (to be announced shortly), will win a £7,500 prize. There is a further prize of £7,500 for the winning film as voted by the public. “This is the record I’ve always wanted to make. It’s reignited how I think about what I can do with music myself, ‘Rudebox’ was done in a guerrilla way, no plan of action, it just evolved into what it is naturally.
"That’s what I like about film today and why I wanted to do this project and competition. Just like in music, you can create a masterpiece out of an i-book and some digital footage, as much as you can in a fancy studio. That’s how ‘The 80s’ began life itself, in my bedroom in LA with my friend Jerry messing around on my Mac. I’m very excited to see what the film makers can come up with."

Robbie Williams sued 300,000 pounds for defamation by ex-manager.

Fans of Robbie Williams may have to wait for his new album for some more time, for his ex-manager has filed a writ petition against him over the inclusion of a song he believes is defamatory, casting doubts as to whether his new album will release on time.
Nigel Martin-Smith has reportedly filed a writ petition against Williams and his record label Chrysalis in the High Court, demanding 300,000 pounds in damages over a track on his forthcoming Rudebox CD. Nigel is said to have made this move after the singer did not pay a heed to his demand to not release a song in the album called ‘The 90s’, the lyrics of which, he believes, are highly defamatory to him and are untrue. Since the album is scheduled to be out on October 23, Williams’ lawyers will have to move quickly to avoid its release from being delayed. A procedural judge will hear the initial stages of the action against Chrysalis Records, while his colleague will take up the early stages of the claim against Robbie.
The hearing is expected to last for weeks or even months, and this has become a cause of worry for Robbie’s record label, which has already shelled out a lot of money on the international marketing campaign to promote the album. “The major problem is that thousands of pounds have already been spent on an international marketing campaign to promote the album. From the record label’s point of view the album has to come out on time,” the Sun quoted an insider as saying.

Robbie Williams being treated for depression.

British pop star Robbie Williams who recently cancelled the Asian leg of his “Close Encounters” world tour, due to “stress and exhaustion”, is now being treated for depression. “He`s suffered from depression before but feels things are getting worse and the tour was too much,” the Mirror quoted a source close to him as saying. Robbie is being treated by Dr Mark Collins, a top expert at the Priory clinic in South West London. He also flew to California, where he lives, for various sessions. “He`s determined to get the very best treatment,” the source added. The 32-year-old is also under pressure after his comeback single ‘Rudebox’ flopped, and ex-manager Nigel Martin-Smith threatening to sue over a track on his new album in which he is called an “evil man”. Robbie has talked openly about depression, which he first admitted battling in 2002. “I could get up in front of 35,000 or 40,000 people and go, `Look at me, I`m ace!` Then as soon as I got off stage I`d get in the tour coach and go back to my bedroom and pull the duvet over my eyes,” he told Stephen Fry in a BBC documentary this month.

Letter to Robbie.

Our dream supreme's just been destroyed when Robbie Williams announced he can't play his dates in Asia. Robbie once came to Asia in 2001. It was gonna be the second time but now it's all cancelled. We're really really sad about it. We know from news, now he's damn tired and exhausted and the news make us get deeper sadness because we worry about him very very much. We don't really really really really know when he will keep coming back to Asia. The only one thing that all people in Asia need from our beloved pop star is thinking of us in his next tour. Robbie, There are Asia fans as many as Europe fans, including our love that
we always give to you. Please Robbie please, please think of us in your next tour . We've been waiting for you for so long time.
Can I have an opportunity that this messege will be sent to Robbie Williams???

Robbie Williams' Shakira duet?

Robbie Williams could be set to record a duet with Shakira, if his former songwriting partner gets his way. Guy Chambers masterminded several of Robbie's biggest hits, including 'Angles' and 'Rock DJ', but the pair parted ways after a clash over the singer's multi-million pound recording deal with EMI. However, Guy insists he is now ready to call a truce on the pair's feud and pen another hit for Robbie if he agrees to collaborate with Shakira. Guy is convinced a duet between the pair could be the thing that launches Robbie's career in the US, where the Latin beauty is a huge star. He told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "He should have always done that. It would be the perfect match and I would like to write the tune for it. It would be a worldwide hit and would break Robbie in America." Guy has also revealed that one of the main reasons the pair disbanded their hugely successful partnership was because Robbie wanted to move to Los Angeles. He added: "One of the main reasons our partnership ended was because he moved to Los Angeles. "If I'd also moved out there we may have continued working together. But that idea wasn't really going to be possible."

Robbie Williams told to remove song.

Robbie Williams's former manager is demanding he remove a song from his new album - just weeks before it hits the shelves. Ex-Take That manager Nigel Martin-Smith - who claims he made Robbie a star by plucking him from obscurity to be in the phenomenally successful boy band - is so furious with the vicious lyrics on Robbie's track 'The 90s' he has threatened to take him to court if he does not remove the offending material. In the song - which appears on 'Rudebox' due to be released on October 23 - Robbie sings: "Either you're a thief or you're s**t, which one will you admit to? "Such an evil man, I used to fantasise about taking a Stanley knife and playing round with your eyes." Robbie's record label EMI/Chrysalis may now be forced to axe the track and retract CDs already printed for promotional use or face libel action. A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Nigel is getting really heavy with his lawyers over these allegation. He is taking it very seriously. "He was furious when he found out about some of the lyrics in the song and wants it deleted from Robbie's album. "Robbie's lawyers are now dealing with it and have agreed that no copies of the song will be distributed until the legal issues have been resolved. They have also agreed not to release the lyrics anywhere until it is all cleared up." Nigel and Robbie's feud goes back over ten years. In 1995, Nigel sued Robbie for breach of contract when he ditched his commitments with Take That to go and join Oasis on stage at the Glastonbury music festival.

Robbie Williams cancels gigs.

BRITISH pop star Robbie Williams has canceled all four concerts in Asia for his Close Encounters World Tour, including his Shanghai gig on November 4. In Good Company, Williams' management firm, said in a statement that the singer had decided not to play Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore because "it became clear that the stress and exhaustion of the Asian tour coming shortly after the end of the European and South American dates would seriously impact his health." "Throughout the summer Robbie Williams has performed in more than 40 shows around the world to more than 3 million people," the company said. The statement was sent to China West Entertainment, one of the Shanghai concert's organizers, yesterday evening. The company refused to say how much it had invested in the concert. Tickets for the Shanghai concert were supposed to officially go on sale yesterday. Zhou Yucheng from Shanghai Oriental Pearl Live Nation Entertainment and Sports Co Ltd, another organizer of the concert, said they hadn't taken any money for tickets. Tickets for Williams' show in Hong Kong on November 10 have already been sold out.

Tickets warning for Robbie Williams fans.

Hundreds of Robbie Williams fans will be turned away from his concerts at Hampden Park, Glasgow, tonight and tomorrow because they bought stolen tickets, police warned last night.
They said a total of 560 tickets had been cancelled by the gigs' promoter and anyone turning up at the venue with one would be denied entry and asked to explain where it was obtained.
A police operation will be mounted at the turnstiles for the Falkirk and Dunfermline areas, and officers will be able to spot stolen tickets coming through. It is understood genuine purchasers did not receive their tickets and agent Ticketmaster and promoter DF Concerts contacted the police. An inquiry is under way into the theft. Chief Superintendent Robin Howe, who will be in charge of security at the concerts, said: "It is likely that the tickets have been sold on to unsuspecting fans who will be hugely disappointed as these tickets have been withdrawn by the promoters and are no longer valid. "It is believed that about 380 tickets for the Friday concert and about 180 for the Saturday, all originally destined for buyers in the Falkirk and Dunfermline areas, may have been stolen. All tickets are for the seated areas in the stands." A spokesman for DF Concerts said: "We are extremely vocal in warning music fans not to buy tickets from unofficial outlets. These concerts are sold out and any fans who have taken a risk here will be disappointed. We are working with the police very closely on this." More than 55,000 fans are expected at the National Stadium each night. Those who did not receive ordered tickets should still be able to get in, provided they can prove their identity. Further information is available from Ticketmaster on 0870 1690100.

Robbie Williams - Rudebox - A Tack By Track Guide.

“It wasn’t till I was in the studio the other day listening to a few of the tracks back, I was with the Soul Mekanik boys and the thought hit me…Do songs like the ones you like, I’m eight albums in, why didn’t I think of this before. Doh! I’ve just been scared to make this record before I think. My solo career started when the Britpop explosion did, and I thought, try and make songs that sound like that, but this is now…I’m 32 years old, eight albums in, and this is the record I’ve always wanted to make. It’s the start for me. It’s reignited how I think about what I can do with music myself. I’ve always been scared to try out different things and this album I think I’ve lost the fear of where I should be in my head as a populist, as a populist artist, and it means I can just go and do wonky pop now, which is all I really wanted to do anyway. It has become something on which I’ve found myself. This is the right direction for me personally, this is what it is. I saw the whole Robbie thing coming to a close, I couldn’t make another album like the ones I’d made, and this has just opened up a thousand other doors. What I am excited about now is making more music. I love all the stuff on the album, I love Rudebox, it’s a favourite song of mine. I don’t know what’s gonna happen now, I’m excited about getting it out there, but I’m more excited about making more.”

Rudebox
Danny & Kelvin (aka Soul Mekanik) sent me the very basic drum track and it just became a floor shaker with lyrics straight outta Stoke on Trent. My heads been in some strange places and taken some strange exit turns since I was 16. When we get in the studio we gel and we know where we are going, we get excited when it’s right. I think I’m/we’re onto something. I just think the synchronicity of where we come from and how we are as people adds its own certain chemistry in the studio. It’s a bit strange to be playing this live at the moment cos no one knows it and the venues are massive and playing something so leftfield can be quite daunting, it is something I haven’t done on any other tour (played something no one knows) usually I am a big fan of give them what they want. This time I decided it is a case of give them what they don’t know they want yet.

Viva Life On Mars
For me it is doing away with all I have been taught and instead of investing my faith in a Catholic religion, I decided that the fantasies on the internet are more interesting than the fantasies at the pulpit. I see it as ‘Oh Brother Where Art Thou’, meets Primal Scream when they were good; there has been 3 World Cups since then. Is this my first ever hoe down? A few hoes have bought me down before…

Lovelight
I wouldn’t have known about Lovelight if it hadn’t have been for Tom Middleton’s ‘The Trip’ album - he put it on there, and I fell in love with it instantly…I can’t believe how big that song is and no one knows it. It is amazing to work with a white boy with a ghetto pass like Mark Ronson. He is on the cutting edge of all that is good out there and still manages to love pop. I feel honoured to work with somebody that puts cynicism aside in favour of the truth. I was concerned about singing that vocal, because its full on falsetto all the way through it and I’d only ever done that on the chorus of a track called ‘Tripping’ that I did a couple of years ago. I knew that Lewis Taylor had done such a great vocal that it would be really hard to replicate but I think I did good singing…

King Of The Bongo
I didn’t pick this song, It picked me…’King Of The Bongo’ was played to me by a couple of friends of mine six years ago, and I always thought “I’ve got to cover this..” and now was the right time. ‘King Of The Bongo’ to me is like an unwritten Disney Film. How did Lily Allen end up on here? I knew about her as I had met her at the studio. The Lily Allen Phenomenon is not solely contained to the UK she seems to be doing well everywhere…good on her too.

She’s Madonna
My life seems to be like a never ending edition of Jim’ll fix it. I am truly blessed. The odds of Robbie Williams making a ninth album ten years ago would have been more than long against. To be writing this album and having my heroes work with me feels phenomenal. I played Tour De France by Kraftwerk and said “I like this, Can we do something like this, but not much like this,” but then everything else came together pretty quickly. In case anyone asks…There is nothing tongue in cheek about this song at all, I have always fancied Madonna. I’d have hoped for it to be this good, but you can never tell before venturing into the studio. It is just a bonus that it worked out so well

Keep On
There were 3 things I taped off the TV that I used to watch on repeat when I was a kid– Prince’s Alphabet St Tour, Public Enemy @ Brixton and The Happy Mondays at G Mex. I suppose I was interested in the Happy Mondays because they looked like psychedelic next door neighbours with faces and attitude that I understood. Little did we all know that in 2006 we would still be chasing 1989? I can’t remember lyrics at the best of times, there are so many in this so I doubt I will ever do it live. It is about choosing a different kind of life and believing in the boogie and all it brings.

Good Doctor
Originally we had a sample from the ‘Return of Django’ by the Upsetters, but we got rid of that, but we could always do that later. Sorry The Upsetters…It came from trying to bend the rules of a sober life, I am 32 and am still trying to look for a short cut, there isn’t one. Is it hard to rhyme all those medical terms? No but it is hard to find a perfect balance

The Actor
Partly written on Oscars Night, ‘The Actor’ is about living in LA, and how it has given me little respect for the acting profession. I don’t see this as a dance song at all; I see it as a story over Germanic electro pop.

Never Touch That Switch
The first records I bought were electro records and I never thought in a million years it would be something Robbie Williams could do. It only struck me in the studio as we were recording. Although I didn’t write this one it just reminded me of pre-narcotics and pro-stealing your mums’ lino. What does it mean? I don’t know, it is in the eye of the beholder. To me ‘Never Touch That Switch’ is all about never opening your system to the mood altering experience…you don’t know what it can do to you.

Louise
When I was writing and recording Intensive Care with Stephen Duffy, ‘Louise’ by the Human League kept on being the centre point on what I wanted to achieve with the record. With Louise I remember when it first came out, and then I didn’t listen to it for ages until the middle of the 90’s. When I heard it again, it kind of broke my heart thinking of a period of time I had back when…I wanted to make an album that would hopefully break a few hearts in 10/15 years time. Louise was the template for the Intensive Care album, so it seemed the natural next step to play homage to it and I think we’ve done a good version of it. I’d always wanted to work with William Orbit, I love my ambient melancholy.

We’re The Pet Shop Boys
I just love the fact that the Pet Shop Boys covered it, it is not one of their songs and I love the irony of me covering a cover. Above all that the romance for me in this song is paramount. Did I feel like a Pet Shop Boy when I was recording it? Yes absolutely (said with a big smile). Chris Heath (The person who co-wrote ‘Feel’ my autobiography with me) played it to me and I fell in love with it. I must say when I’ve listened to it back and when I get a chance to sing it, the “What have I, What have I, What have I done to deserve this” bit sends shivers down my spine, everytime it comes up. It’s a sense of history, yours and mine and those particular lyrics really affect me. It’s an honour to do it. I love the Pet Shop Boys and I was pleased to learn that amongst pop genii I can hold my own.

Burslem Normals
It is about an ideal of youth; It is about how in the 80’s and the early 90’s there were so many avenues to explore and so many gangs to be a part of. Youth Culture these days depressingly seems just about the Chav. Back then we had so much choice and the Burslem Normals was a piece of graffiti from the town I was born in, I don’t know what they were into, but they sound cool as fuck.I have always liked what I like and it has always been varied and fortunately I find myself find a position where I do not have to pigeon hole myself. The sentiment in this song is the same as the sentiment in the song ‘Heaven From Here’ but wonkier.

Kiss Me
Stephen Duffy plays like he hates it; I wanted to do it as I wanted him to see how good the track is. Also when this track came out in 1981, something nice must have been happening to me at the time, because it makes me feel full of hope. Youth’s yearning for life and love and all of that. Does he like it? I don’t know, I daren’t ask him. Ok, so I just asked him, and yes he does.

80s
I was obsessed by a track by the Mitchell Brothers called ‘Routine Check’ and also a big fan of Mike Skinner of The Streets and what he does over records, be it rapping or poetry. Its very similar to Ian Dury’s stuff to me, Im also a big fan of his, he was the first white British rapper. I’ve always always wanted to be a rapper, I’ve always been jealous of rappers because of how comfy they are and how cool they look, they’ve always got a tracksuit on and trainers and I have to dress up cos Im a popstar… I want to be a rapper but the world won’t let me. The only reason I have craved my own niche is because it is not that easy. I love words and will continue to use them. It is bitter sweet about a decade where I formed an opinion, I was wrong.

90s
The 90s on the other hand was, originally going to have a sample from one of my top 5 favourite songs…Wichita Lineman in it. I didn’t like it at first, but I came around to it and did some poetry on it, some comfy rapping, with very English storytelling like a modern Roald Dahl but fatter! The 90’s then on became the 90’s after we took the sample out. I look back at it now with a fondness in my heart. I think they are just two nice bookends; ‘The 80s’ – up until I’d left school, lost my virginity, done all kinds. Then there was the whole Take That story to tell which was ‘The 90’s’. It’s weird now, I’ve spunked all the best material so I’ll have to do something drastic so that we have some source material for the next one.

Summertime
When it was originally written it was one of the first, if not the first songs I wrote when I came out of Take That and the feel of the song is a complete juxtapose of how I was at the time. When I wrote ‘Summertime’, which is a very euphoric, up song I don’t think I could have been anymore depressed, deluded, lost. I remember I went down to London in a pair of Vivian Westwood tartan bondage trousers, a pair of black Patrick Cox and a lovely white Vivian Westwood shirt…I was skinny as, a right proper raver and I moved in with a lady on new years night, and by February I was just fat! fat and horrible and lost, all over the place. That was when I met up with Ant Genn and we wrote the song together, Ant was my indie enfant terrible; I adored him cos he was cool as fuck and Northern and funny, I wanted to be him, but drugs took their tole on both of us. At least I have a lasting memory of an amazing yet catastrophic summer, plus I love the fact that little bunnies freeze in the snow.

Dickhead (Bonus Track)
Dickhead was definitely leant from the Mitchell Brothers, so they are to blame for this whole thing. Conversely amongst my friends, Dickhead is the biggest compliment that can be paid, if I call you a Dickhead I like you, but it means the reverse on this record. Life sometimes seems to be a Krypton factor course of idiots, unfortunately idiots speak the loudest. This song is for everyone that thinks I am a Dickhead, I am just reciprocating, the feeling is mutual.

A preview of Robbie Williams' new CD.

Robbie Williams fans have to wait a little longer for the official release of his new album Rudebox – it doesn’t come out until October – but not a second longer for the scoop on the new songs. This time around, Williams blends electronica, hip-hop and classic pop. The title track is the first single, followed by “Viva Life On Mars,” which has a distinct country feel and features banjo and harmonia. Yee-haw! Next is “Lovelight,” on which Williams pulls out a falsetto for a wicked track that will be pumped out at dance clubs for sure. “King of the Bongo” is a cover of the Manu Chao that features vocals by UK pop star Lily Allen and French rapping by Williams. Up next is “She’s Madonna,” a melodic collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys in which Williams sings about taking Madonna home. The uplifting pop song “Keep On” also features backing vocals by Allen and is followed on the album by “Good Doctor,” a hip-hop bit that pokes fun at the U.S. prescription drug system. Williams raps about Joaquin Phoenix on “The Actor” and follows it up with the forgettable “Never Touch That Switch.” “Louise” is a William Orbit-produced cover of the Human League song, while “We’re The Pet Shop Boys” features Williams and the Pet Shop Boys doing a cover of the PSB cover of the song from My Robot Friend. Williams vocals are stripped down on the next track, the ballad “Burslem Normals.” Another cover is next – the classic Stephen Duffy track “Kiss Me.” Williams sings about his adolescence on “The 80s,” but don’t let the kiddies hear this one! “The 90s” follows, of course, wherein Williams sings about his experiences with boy band Take That. The CD fades to black with the strings-infused anthem “Summertime.”

Robbie Williams asks to train with Bayern.

English pop icon Robbie Williams made one of his first major appearances on German TV at Bayern's spectacular centenary party six years ago, when the former Take That boy star was nowhere near as successful as he is today. Williams was on the bill at the Munich Olympic Hall in a live show televised by second channel ZDF. Now one of the mega-stars of the music world, the singer is currently paying a return visit to Munich for a series of three concerts from Tuesday until Thursday at the Olympic Stadium. All three dates were sold out within hours of tickets going on sale. The earlier Bayern connection could be re-activated after it emerged on Monday that Williams' management had lodged a request with the club some time ago, asking if there was a possibility of the pop star taking part in a training session with Felix Magath and his men. Williams, a fervent supporter of his home town club Port Vale, is well known as a passionate follower of the game. The board of directors and coaching staff at the Säbener Strasse have signalled their consent to the concept, should it ever come about. "That would be fine," Magath declared. However, no specific date for a meeting or a training session has been set, nor has the singer's management made any further contact with the club. However, the global entertainer has personally invited all the Bayern players to Thursday evening's concert.

Robbie Williams finds sex on MySpace.

Hollywood, CA (BANG)-British pop bad boy, Robbie Williams, has been known to bed his fair share of women but who knew the sexy Brit had it so easy. During an interview with Britain's Radio 1, sexy Robbie states, "I've heard about this Swedish girl who has been rating me on MySpace. If she wants to come along [to] any of my shows then she is welcome. I think she is calling herself 'blond slag'. But, you know, if she's going to talk about it then we might as well do it!" It's been rumored that Robbie has sex with female fans in between shows of his current "Close Encounters" tour. Apparently, some of those fans have been talking about it on MySpace.com. Postings on the site have been heated with girls not only claiming to have had sex with the pop star but rating him as well. Unfortunately, Robbie's tour won't be making it to America, but kept the faith girls he now lives in L.A.

Robbie Williams "Rudebox".

Rudebox Robbie WilliamsRobbie Williams returns to business with the release of a brand new single ‘RUDEBOX’ on September 4th on EMI Records. ‘RUDEBOX’ is the first single to be taken from his forthcoming new studio album, which will follow soon after. ‘RUDEBOX’ is a nasty, dirty, bass infused electro-funk-pop monster produced and written with fellow Stoke On Trent natives/compadres Soul Mekanik aka Danny Spencer & Kelvin Andrews. “RUDEBOX is wonky pop music, influenced by the underground,” says Andrews, “It was just three lads from Stoke having fun in the studio, no rules and no knobheads.”   Forged around a sample from Sly & Robbie’s seminal ‘Boops (Here To Go)’ and twisted around his own unique visceral lyrical stylings, the result is the sound of our Rob jamming the electro-boogaloo on a bustling New York street corner in 1983. The sound is unmistakably fresh, and unmistakably Robbie Williams! It could be no other. “RUDEBOX is loads of different things, sometimes it could be a vibe delivered in a spaceship direct to the studio, sometimes it’s a really nasty girl dancing scantily clad, or sometimes it’s a giant Soundsystem…Sometimes it’s actually just a box that tells you to fuck off! too” adds RW. ‘RUDEBOX’ sets the tone for the album which as previously reported also see’s Robbie collaborating with the likes of The Pet Shop Boys, William Orbit and Mark Ronson and a host of others, on both new original compositions and covers of some of his favourite tracks. This is perhaps the most definitive Robbie Williams opus to date, where his truest personal and musical inspirations collide to create an intimate and explorative sound that will surprise some, but after eight albums, this here is the sound of Robert Peter Williams, born 1974 in Stoke On Trent, UK. “They might say its “dance” or it’s “electro” but it’s just what I like! It started off as a busman’s holiday this time around, but it’s become something on which I’ve found myself. I was just doing my YTS up till now,” he adds. ‘RUDEBOX’ has begun to blaze a trail of its own right on dancefloors across the world, with early mixes and dubs from the likes of Soul Mekanik, Chicken Lips & Riton already receiving support from the likes of Pete Tong (Radio1), James Hyman (XFM), and DJ luminaries as broad as Sasha, John Digweed, Trevor Jackson, Erol Alkan, Boris Dlugosch & Sarah Main to name but a handful. The initial white-label release has already charted in the highly respected Buzz, Cool Cuts & Zzub club charts and continues to grow on a daily basis. RW is in the midst of his record-breaking ‘Close Encounters’ World tour that hits the UK in September.

Robbie Williams heads for Ibiza.

After a highly successful career in Take That and then as a solo artist, it turns out that Robbie Williams was just pulling the wool over our eyes - he secretly liked dance music all along. Honest. Robbie is set to release his new single, Rudebox, on the 4th Sept. The single is taken from his forthcoming album '1974' which includes collaborations with Mark Ronson, Soul Mekanik and William Orbit. According to rumours in the UK press, he is set to promote the single in Ibiza next month with a series of live shows and radio appearances. "They might say it's dance or electro but it's just what I like! It started off as a busman's holiday this time around, but it's become something on which I've found myself. I was just doing my YTS up till now," he claims. The record company say it is "intimate and explorative" and that Rudebox is "already blazing a trail across dancefloors all over the world". If you happen to stumble across one of these places then let us know, as we're yet to hear it played out anywhere. Rudebox is released by EMI on the September 4.

Summit puts safety first on Robbie Williams.

Worldwide - Summit Steel is supplying all production rigging equipment for the European stadium section, and rigging consultancy and crew (under direction of Head rigger Jez Craddick) for the whole of Robbie Williams' Close Encounters world tour. The first half of 2006 has been Summit's busiest period ever, resulting in the purchase of over 70 new Lodestar hoists from Lift-Turn-Move - complete with customised rain covers - in order to supply the 110 hoists required to service Close Encounters. These are in addition to the 200 hoists that have been in action on Summit's other work during this period.
Motor control throughout the rig is all standard fixed-speed units. Summit commissioned Kinesys to design and build eight brand new customised 4-way 'briefcase' controllers and another four 6-way modules to the same spec as Summit's existing Ibex design for use on the tour, which is being project managed by Summit's Chris Walker. Walker has worked closely with Jeremy Lloyd, the tour's technical design director and production manager Wob Roberts. With the set, staging, lighting, sound and video systems all being so physically integrated - and virtually all of it custom built for the tour - large amounts of time were spent in advance doing test builds and establishing the best methods for rigging the various elements. Much of this is complex, requires great precision and has generated some imaginative lateral thinking. More off-beat 'rigging tasks' include areas like the O-lite video panels, which are slid up into their special frames (known as 'tusks') being pulled by hoists. Devising and installing safety systems was an area of primary importance for the Summit team. With the set consisting of exposed metalwork needing to be accessed at any time, and also because it's outdoors with no roof, standard fall arresters weren't an option. Instead, Summit has designed a system of static rope safety lines with inbuilt shock absorbers at the top. Walker also recommended that all personnel and crew needing to access any of the set or flown pieces use a Petzl ASAP, which clips around the rope and runs up and down as they climb. In the 'Scorpions' Tails', Summit has installed a series of Tirsafe safety lines - rated for having a number of people fall on them at any one time - and necessary because of the construction, nature and accessibility of these set pieces. Linked to the safety systems, Summit also drew up a 'Rescue at Height' policy and a set of safety procedures and risk assessments based on the new Work At Height regulations. Touring crew were trained on rope rescue during the lengthy pre-production period at LiteStructures in Wakefield. Summit then supplied the tour with the same Rope Rescue kits for the universal and advanced touring systems. Summit co-ordinated with The Event Safety Shop, the tour's Health and Safety consultants throughout.
Chris Walker says "Being brought in to the project at an early stage enabled us to get involved with a lot of the design details and to try to solve as many potential problems as possible before the tour started. It was great to be working with Wob Roberts and the Robbie Williams team again; it's a pleasure to work with people who want everything to be done properly."

"Take That" invite Robbie Williams into the studio.

British boy band Take That have invited their former bandmate Robbie Williams into the studio to record their fourth album with him. Williams left the band in 1995 to pursue an indescribably massive solo career and has not rejoined the band for their recent European tour, although Take That cheekily had Robbie there in hologram form. While Williams was on stage in Denmark in 2001, during a performance of Take That’s hit ‘Back For Good’ he shouted at the audience “Sing the backing vocals, that’s all I f*cking did!” The band have signed with Polydor and will be heading into the studio soon. You can expect their album out next year.

Rob-Bed of true love.

Robbie Williams will never settle down, says his dad. And Pete Conway believes he is partly to blame for his son being a commitment phobe. Pete, 59, who left Rob's mum when the star was just two, said: "Was Robbie affected by me leaving? I'm sure he was. But he's happy enough now and we're good friends." He added: "I still don"t know if he'll ever settle down. It's not that he doesn't like families or kids. He just hasn't met Miss Right yet."

Robbie Tour in Australia.

Robbie's promoter, Michael Chugg, today announced that the “world’s favourite entertainer and most dynamic showman ever seen”, would perform stadiums in December, playing the country’s five major capital cities. The “Let me entertain you” stadium-pop giant includes Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane for the first time in five years, and plays Sydney and Melbourne. At Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, Robbie will be the first international act to make use of its concert potential and big-crowd facilities. Chugg says of the concert coup of the year that “the country is expected to join the ticket-selling phenomenon already experienced in every territory where Robbie Williams’ concerts have gone on sale.”
He sold out five London shows, each with a capacity of 75,000. His Leeds’ concert sold out in 90 minutes. Holland sold-out their four Amsterdam Arena gigs in a breath-taking 89 minutes. In Germany a mass of 20,000 fans braved the cold to line the streets of Munich waiting for tickets to go on sale at midnight! To cope with demand, and in an unprecedented Australian first, tickets will go on sale across two days. Sydney, sold via Ticketek, and Melbourne via Ticketmaster, go on sale June 6. Adelaide and Brisbane both from Ticketek, and Perth from Ticketmaster, follow on June 7. “Because of the size and complexity of this technological monster, they’ll be bringing two stage roofs and rigs from the UK which will run in tandem and leap-frog across the country.” Chugg concludes, “I am very excited that Robbie, whose love for Australia is well known, has agreed to play our major cities.” Each of the stadium concerts will be a combination of general admission (GA) tickets and allocated seats in the stands. No alcohol or bottles (including plastic) will be permitted in the GA areas. Pocket-size and mobile phone cameras will be permitted.
Concert information like maps, arrival and departure times, and public transport options will be broadcast and printed in local media closer to each concert date. The 50-million-world-wide-album-seller topped the charts in 18 countries with his latest, Intensive Care. The new single, Sin Sin Sin is out in Australia June 3. In a story of unparalleled success this Australian tour will ink another chapter in the story that is Robbie Williams.

Listening to Robbie Williams songs can increase the brain's capacity for learning.

The study by LernQuadrat in Austria looked at which music helps children concentrate better as well as take in and remember more information. It found that songs by Robbie and Anastacia were the best at "stimulating the learning abilities of young people". LernQuadrat director Konrad Zimmermann said: "Classical music, which has long been considered beneficial to learning, is obviously not fit for the world of young people today. They need to know and like the music in order for it to have a stimulating effect on learning."

Robbie Williams And Gary Balow End Their 11 Year Feud.

The former Take That bandmates put their differences behind them at a reunion organised by Robbie at London's Conrad hotel on Tuesday (09.05.06) A source revealed to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Robbie looked a bit nervous waiting for the boys. "He was sat on his own at the bar in a black hooded jumper. "When Gary went through Robbie stood up and they both laughed and hugged, Gary said. 'How are you? It's been a while'." Gary - accompanied by the rest of the group, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald - rushed to the emotional meeting with the 'Let Me Entertain You' singer after a sell-out concert at London's Wembley Arena. The pair famously fell out after Robbie quit the band in 1995 and publicly revealed how depressed he was during his time in the group. Gary vehemently denied the claims, saying: "When Robbie says he didn't enjoy a day in Take That, it's an absolute lie." During their late night meeting - the first time the band have all been together since they split in 1995 - it is believed the group also discussed the possibility of Robbie joining the foursome on stage during their tour.

Robbie Williams will put his touring career on hold after a farewell gig in Melbourne.

Williams' world tour will end in Australia in December, with Melbourne the last stop. e will play at Telstra Dome on December 17, with tickets on sale from June 6 at Ticketmaster. "I'm not going to tour for a long time after this tour," Williams told the Herald Sun. "For me this tour is a year-long celebration of what I've achieved as a solo artist. It comes in the form of getting on stage in stadiums. "After that I'll say thank you very much. It's not something I want to do again for a long time." Williams' 2006 world tour has sold out at stadiums throughout Europe and Britain. The tour set a world record last year by selling more than 1.6 million tickets in a single day, beating a record held by 'N Sync. The tour is expected to be seen by 2.5 million people this year. Australian promoter Michael Chugg said Williams would bring the full overseas production down under. The show features a stage that snakes into the crowd, bringing Williams close to fans. Williams' Australian tour starts in Perth on December 1, before moving to outdoor shows in Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane. Tickets will cost about $149 for gold seats and $99 for silver. Tickets will be sold in a maximum of six per transaction to prohibit internet scalpers buying in bulk. The new tour mixes Williams' classics such as Angels, Let Me Entertain You, Rock DJ, Feel and Kids with recent hits Tripping and Sin Sin Sin. "Some of the other shows I've done I've been running the 1500m, and the 400m and the 100m all at the same time. With this show I just want to relax," Williams said. Williams is recording a new dance album, due for release in September.

Robbie: I won't tour with Take That.

From top: Jason, Howard, Gary, Robbie and MarkRobbie Williams has told TAKE THAT he's too busy to join their comeback tour-but he WILL take time to do a gig with the PET SHOP BOYS, I can exclusively reveal.
The Robster had promised to join HOWARD, MARK, GARY and JASON on stage for at least one of their concerts. But now he has backed out, telling the lads he has too many other projects on the go. However, it seems he has got time for the Pet shop boys.
I can reveal he is recording a dance album with them and will join them at a hush-hush gig at London's Windnill Theatre tomorrow. A source close to the Pet Shop Boys told me:
"Initially Robbie did want to join Take That boys on the tour- he was quite excited about seeing his fans again. But time just wouldn't allow it because he has so much going on at the moment. However when the Pet Shop boys came along and asked him to join them for their one-off gig, he jumped at the chance. He likes to do quirky things and sees this as being right up his street".
Last month it was revealed Robbie would appear with Take That at one of their Manchester gigs-although he wanted to keep the excact date under wraps. But as well as his Pet Shop commitments, Robbie is up to his eyes in rehearsing for his world tour later this year as well as preparations for his new single, which is out next month.
He is also involved in Soccer Aid, which will see him do battle on the pitch with celebs and World Cup legends in aid of UNICEF.
His decision to pull out of the tour will be a blow for Take That fans who were over the moon that they would get to see the fab five back together again.Robbie sensationally quit Take That in 1995. Seems we'll have to wait a while longer to see him bury the hatchet with his old pals.

Robbie Williams goes dance for gay fans.

Robbie Williams is recording a dance album - to please his gay fans. The "Let Me Entertain You" singer has reportedly hooked up with superstar producer William Orbit, who previously worked with Madonna, to reinvent his sound. Robbie, who is rejoining former band Take That for their Manchester homecoming gig, has also recorded several tunes with the Pet Shop Boys and top New York DJ Mark Ronson. The 36-year-old hellraiser wants to make a "Kylie-style" album with more pop and dance tracks, and turned to Orbit, who reinvented Madonna with her "Ray of Light" album, to mastermind the project. The singer, who collaborated with Kylie Minogue on their hit "Kids", wants to debut his new sound under a false name before launching the album in August.

Robbie set for Take That comeback.

Gary Barlow has revealed that Robbie Williams is to join Take That on tour, with the solo star set to team up with his former bandmates for a number of gigs, including a show in Manchester. Take That kicked off their tour with a show in Newcastle on Sunday and Gary told The Sun: "Robbie is doing more than one gig. "I don't know which dates, but he has told Mark Owen he is definitely coming back." Williams made an appearance at the Newcastle gig as a hologram after re-recording his vocals for 'Could It Be Magic'.
Gary added: "It was our idea to do the hologram and Robbie was well up for it. We worried people would be disappointed when Rob didn't appear from behind the hologram, but it went down well." A new album and a European tour are also on the cards and Gary, Mark, Jason Orange and Howard Donald have already written a number of new tracks for the record, which could be released before Christmas.
And Jason revealed he wants Robbie to get involved on the new album. He said: "It would be great if Rob wrote with us. We let Gary write all the songs before and he walked away with all the money. This time it's going to be an equal split - as it should have been the last time around."

Robbie Williams' New Wild-Child Love.
Pop star Robbie Williams is enjoying a steamy romance with Courtney Love’s guitarist Lisa Leveridge. Unlucky-in-love Williams has been seeing the wild-child rocker – who used to date American author Neil Strauss – since Christmas, and friends report the pair have really hit it off. One tells the Sunday Mirror, “Robbie is completely bowled over by Lisa. Not only is she stunning looking, but she's bright and very straight-talking. They met around Christmas and hit it off immediately. "He's hoping that he's finally found someone he can have a proper relationship with. She understands the showbiz thing and has been a bit of a wild child, so they have a lot in common." However, reclusive Robbie still isn't comfortable in the relationship to talk about it. When confronted about the reports he dead-panned, “Oh God. What? Oh goodness. There's no comment. Thank you so much. Goodbye."

Chiefs Of The Brit Awards.
RobbieThere were no Jarvis/Jacko style antics at this year's Brit Awards. It was a relatively smooth evening, with Kaiser Chiefs being the band of the night. They walked away with three gongs - best British group, best British rock act and best live act. The boys from Leeds opened the show with their hit I Predict A Riot and looked fairly dapper on the red carpet with a couple of yellow ties. James Blunt also topped off a great year, after being named best British male (beating Robbie Williams and Will Young) and best pop act. Taking to the stage he told the audience: "Now I've won best British male maybe that will remind me I should sing more like a man in future. I promise to do so." Coldplay continued their gong-collecting with the trophy for best British album for X&Y and another for best British single for Speed Of Sound. Singer Chris Martin withered to his knees when he arrived on stage and told the audience:  "It's hard for us sometimes because we're English and we don't get to admit that we are great, so tonight we'd like to agree with you for giving us this award." The best British female was KT Tunstall, meaning Charlotte Church, Kate Bush, Natasha Bedingfield and Katie Melua left with their handbags empty. Arctic Monkeys won best British breakthrough act but were absent - opting instead to play a gig in Portsmouth. Madonna won best international female, with Kanye West winning the male equivalent. American band Green Day were name-checked as the best international group and also received the best international album for American Idiot.

Robbie pays himself  £ 30,000 a day.

Robbie Williams paid himself £11million last year - £30,000 a DAY.
The singer, who is 32 today, pocketed a salary of £8.9million and a dividend worth £1.9million . The figures are revealed in the published accounts for Robbie's firm, The In Good Company Co Ltd. They show the business enjoyed sales worth £15million up the end of March 2005. The firm earned £22million the previous year - and Robbie's salary was a relatively paltry £2million. The Greatest Hits album, re leased in October 2004, reached No1 in 18 countries and sold more than six million copies. Two months earlier he published his second autobiography Feel, which included revelations about his secret dates with Cameron Diaz. Robbie's company deals with the "music writing, recording, performing and touring activities" of the Stoke-born singer. He is thought to have made millions more from merchandise, image rights and sponsorship deals. Robbie also gets royalties from his days in Take That. He signed a record-breaking £80million deal with EMI four years ago, saying: "I'm rich beyond my wildest dreams. But his riches have not helped him find true love - and he reckons he might be happier with nothing. He said: "Money's nothing to do with happiness. Sometimes I feel like giving it away. In my darkest moments I'm convinced life would be easier if I didn't have as much as £100. Then I could walk the streets as a free man, meet a girl - and live the quiet life I long for."

Will he be the new Rob?

It's still a disappointment that Robbie Williams won't be joining Take That on their reunion tour, but one man is brave enough to step into the great man's shoes. Step forward... Will Young, a fan with the voice and the style to be a wor thy replacement. The singer, whose single All Time Love is out now, is desperate to take the Robster's role when the fabulous four hit the stage for their UK tour in April. He told us: "I'm looking forward to the Take That reunion later this year - it will be fun and a good night out". "I'd happily join Take That on stage and look after Robbie's place - that would be so much fun, we could all sing together. My favourite Take That song is Relight My Fire, so we could perform that one." Take That's management said: "The band did their last big tour as a fourpiece, so they don't think Robbie will really be missed this time around. "Besides Will is such a big star now they don't think they could afford him. "They are really flattered by Will's comments though, and hope they can work together in the future." If Rob sees someone in his place, it could persuade him to come Back For Good, couldn't it?

Robbie Williams' World Cup priority.

Robbie Williams is so obsessed with football he's organised his European tour around the World Cup.
The pop heartthrob was so scared he'd miss the key matches of the tournament he has scheduled concerts around the games he wants to see.
He is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "I love football! "She's my wife and my mistress. She has never let me down. "Last year, it was reported the singer was so determined to become a better footballer he enlisted the help of friend David Beckham. The star was said to have approached the England captain, who will lead the team out at this summer's World Cup in Germany, backstage at the Live 8 charity concert, in London, and persuaded him to teach him some of his skills.
One of Beckham's friends revealed at the time: "David and Robbie got chatting backstage after the Live 8 show. "Becks invited Robbie to Spain, where he's promised to give him a tour of his club, Real Madrid's training ground, as well as teaching him a few skills." The source added: "Robbie's already quite good at football but he's keen to learn from the expert."

Robbie Williams romancing Emma Griffiths.

Robbie Williams is reportedly romancing stunning MTV presenter Emma Griffiths. The pair allegedly met when they stayed in the same Lisbon hotel for an awards ceremony last November - and spent the night together.
The pop heartthrob is said to have been romancing the sexy brunette ever since. Robbie has remained tight-lipped about the romance but former model Emma, who used to date Busted star Matt Jay, has reportedly told friends they are an item.
According to Britain's News of the World newspaper she told pals: "We met when he arrived in Portugal for the awards. He looked at me and I looked back at him and we got chatting." She added: "He is so gorgeous. I fancied him and it didn't take long for things to happen. He was lovely - such a polite man - and I was even star struck which is unlike me. We decided to go back to the hotel together."
A source revealed: "Robbie thought Emma was beautiful and she has always loved him so it didn't take long for the sparks to fly." Robbie and Emma are said to be keeping in touch via text messages and phone calls since the singer returned to his LA mansion. The insider said: "Emma can't wait to see him again, and Robbie seems keen too. "She knows there is distance between them but she has her fingers crossed that it might work out."

Robbie Williams set to become comedian?

Pop singer Robbie Williams has said in a recent interview that he is considering a career as a stand-up comedian. In an interview with German newspaper Die Zeit, Williams said that he feels that a career in comedy would help to change the media image of him as a depressed performer. "My father was a stand-up comedian for years. Maybe I will be one day too," he said. "I notice sometimes on stage that the music suddenly gets in the way because I just want to talk to the audience or make them laugh". "For years there has been this public image of me that I have never understood. They say again and again that I'm a deeply depressed, sad bloke".

Robbie spotted the painting by art hoaxer Banksy in a London gallery and bought it for his Chelsea home. Other stars who snapped up 30-year-old Banksy’s work include Jamie Oliver and Damon Albarn.

Robbie Williams Wants In On Space Travel.

Pop singer Robbie Williams wants to fly into space. The 31-year-old singer is desperate for Sir Richard Branson to invite him on the Virgin Galactic SpaceShip when it goes into orbit in 2010.
A ticket for the interstellar trip costs just £115,000 (about US $200,000) per person. However, Robbie might not have to go into space to meet aliens — he's already admitted he thinks they'll come to us one day.
Williams told Britain's BBC Radio 2: "I've been dreaming every night about UFO's, every night. I can't wait to go to sleep at night because those dreams have been so brilliant. I think they are definitely on there way, seriously. Mark my words. From now until 2012 — watch out kids."

Is Bond expecting Robbie Williams?

(Show Me the Way to) Amarillo songwriter Tony Christie has written the song, and he hopes that Robbie will follow in the footsteps of Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Sheryl Crow by singing the theme tune to Britain's most famous spy's next exploits.
Christie said: "Robbie's voice would suit it down to the ground - plus he's current and hip so it would be absolutely great if he did it. We tried to make it a typical Bond theme tune with a throbbing dramatic bassline filling the background.
"I'm a huge fan of the old school 007 songs like Shirley Bassey with Goldfinger and Tom Jones singing Thunderball, so I tried to give it that authentic sound."
Recording is likely to begin in February, so Robbie's going to have to make up his mind if he's going to appear in the title sequence for Casino Royale.
If he does take on the song, it won't be the first time the former Take That star has brushed shoulders with 007.
In Williams's hit single, Millennium, he famously sampled the Bond theme tune, You Only Live Twice.
He also dressed like James Bond on his second album, I've Been Expecting You, which was named after many a Bond villains' catchphrase.

Robbie once again for UNICEF.

With each minute that passes a child dies of AIDS and four young people become infected with the virus. UNICEF’s new global HIV/AIDS campaign ‘Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS’ calls for a collective and global response against HIV/AIDS, not only because of the extraordinary threat it poses to children but also because it is preventable.
As an ambassador for UNICEF, Robbie has paired up with David Beckham to raise awareness of the millions of children across the world who are losing out because of HIV/AIDS. Viewers of CNN and MTV will be able to see the 30 second video message from the two stars pledging their support to the campaign and appealing to viewers worldwide to join them. The video message will be available to view here from Monday 5th December.

"Poland Loves Robbie".

For the second time the "Poland Loves Robbie" campaign has gone live. The first one was organised in January 2004, now after a 2 year gap, it's time to remind ourselves what it was like.

To take part in the campaign, polish fans will send letters to Robbie's mangers. In the letters fans will write about how they love the artist, but mainly they will remind Robbie about themselves and especially, that they are waiting for another concert in Poland. It is particularly important now, as none of the Polish cities are on the tour list for 2006.

Red and white envelopes with "Poland Loves Robbie" written on them are going to be sent between the 28th and the 30th of November 2005, to Robbie's manegment in London.

All current information are at www.robbiewilliams.pl/polandlovesrobbie .

Aching back for good.

Take That want their old bandmate Robbie Williams to return for a one-off gig during their UK stadium tour next year. Robbie called the boys to make his peace ten years after they split up — and gave them his blessing for their 11 dates next April and May. JASON ORANGE, GARY BARLOW, MARK OWEN and HOWARD DONALD promise a return to their energetic dance routines — even though they’re all now in their 30s and admit they may not even cope with rehearsals. And just in case the biggest showman of them all takes up their offer, they are going to leave an extra microphone backstage. It just so happens Robbie has April and May off during his world tour. Perfect timing. Mark said: “If he wants to come up and sing a song he’s more than welcome.” The recent ITV1 documentary helped to heal old wounds between Robbie and his old pals. Jason said: “I spoke to Robbie a couple of times last week. He’s delighted for us and, I think, a bit wistful.” The group announced their plan to reform at a Press conference in London yesterday — just like I predicted.
The tour starts in Newcastle on April 24, ending at the Belfast Odyssey on May 14. Tickets go on sale next Friday. The lads will be paid £1.5million each — and Jason is still pinching himself about the deal. He said: “It might be a wonderful thing and create some nostalgia. Or it might be crap — but it worked the first time around.” And he grinned: “The money was an important factor.” The boys start rehearsals in February. But their biggest worry is how they are going to re-enact the outrageous dance routines. Mark admitted: “I was exhausted just watching the old shows.” And Howard, the eldest at 37, fears his creaking limbs won’t cope with his old breakdancing stunts. He said: “It’s going to be tough. I worry my knees will give way.” Take That — who had eight No1 hits including Back For Good — promise a stage spectacular.
And they took a swipe at their “boring” competitors. Gary said: “Westlife are OK but they don’t match what we did on stage.”

Robbie Williams smashes world record.
Robbie Williams has smashed a Guinness Book World Record by selling more than 1.6 million tickets for his upcoming world tour in just one day. Williams has snatched the record from Justin Timberlake's former band NSync. The boyband sold a million tickets, valued at $23.4m, in one day five years ago.The tickets sold for the Robbie Williams concert on the first day of sale have been valued at an estimated £80m. Advance tickets sales on the star's official website were not included in the record-breaking figure. The former Take That star will feature in the 2007 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. Craig Glenday, editor of the book, said: "We are thrilled that Robbie has brought home this highly prestigious and much celebrated record - it's a proud day for British pop music." Williams already holds the record for the most Brit Awards won by any individual, after picking up 15 of the awards.

Why Not Breaking America As Been Good For Robbie Williams

Last week whilst in a news conference in Zocola, Mexico City's central plaza for the Oye! music awards, Robbie Williams stated he no longer had any interest in breaking America, and that he wouldn't be releasing his latest album, Intensive Care, in the states or promote it there.
"America has never really been the end piece of the jigsaw for me. I live in America. Nobody knows me there. I can pick my nose, and get away with a lot of things that I wouldn't be able to get away with in the rest of the world, and then everywhere else I go I'm a pop star. And it's fun - it's like being Batman."  (...)

"Advertising Space" video.
"This is my 'True Romance' song (...) the one where, like Christian Slater in the film, I like to believe I have direct access to Elvis Presley every now and then" says Williams about the "Advertising Space". Robbie jokingly describes it as his own 'Candle In The Wind'. The amazing video for "Advertising Space" beautifully directed by David LaChapelle shows Robbie as you've never seen him before in a moving tribute to his hero Elvis Presley! Take That: "Never Forget".

Here are finally some news about the ultimate collection package from the Take That. It will be out on November 14th, and it's called : "Take That, The Utimate Collection, Never Forget".
Pop icon Robbie Williams snubbed an $8.8 million (GBP5 million) offer to reunite with his former Take That bandmates, because he still holds a grudge against the boyband's former manager. The British singer, who quit that chart-topping group in 1995 to pursue his solo career, has settled his differences with Mark Owen, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Gary Barlow - but still harbours animosity towards Nigel Martin Smith. Williams, who is promoting his sixth solo studio album Intensive Care, says, "I can say something nice about every single member of the band. "But when it comes to Nigel Martin Smith... I want to rip his uterus out."

Robbie Williams launches new album.

Robbie Williams officially launched his new album in front of 7,000 German fans, with a broken bone in his arm. The 31-year-old slipped and fell while playing football in Berlin on Friday, breaking a bone in his right arm. But he told the audience at the City Velodrom Arena: "It's a special occasion. I've had an injection and now I can't feel a thing."
During the 90-minute gig, Williams treated his fans to a selection of old hits, as well as showcasing songs from the new album, Intensive Care. The record, being released by EMI on October 24, was recorded in his bedroom high in the Hollywood hills, and is co-written by Duran Duran founder Stephen Duffy. Following an orchestral overture, Williams rose out of a circular central platform, greeted by a sea of arms, camera-phones and roaring cheers. The first track, Ghosts, a song from the new album, was lapped up by the German audience, who hung off his every word throughout the entire performance. Although it was the old tunes, such as Feel, Rock DJ and crowd-pleaser Angel that were met with the best reception, the new hits also received rapturous applause. The latest single, Tripping, which entered the UK charts at number two on Sunday, had the fans bouncing up and down, while Advertising Space, complete with Elvis pelvic squiggles from Williams, had them screaming for more. But it was brash anthem A Place to Crash that really stood out among the new tracks, its "ah - yeah"s tailor-made for live gigs, with Williams strutting Mick Jagger style across the stage.

Robbie Williams hurts wrist before concert.

Robbie Williams hurt his wrist in a soccer match with a local Berlin club before a Sunday concert to launch his first album in two years, a source close to the singer said on Saturday.
"He hurt it while playing football. He had it checked out but it was fine and wasn't broken," the source said by telephone in London.
There was no suggestion the sell-out concert in the 7,500 capacity Velodrom would be cancelled.
The Berliner Morgenpost newspaper quoted BFC Preussen manager Karlheinz Ulbrich as saying the pop star, an avid soccer fan, had his wrist checked in hospital after slipping during a friendly match with the club in south Berlin on Friday.
Sunday's concert launching the album "Intensive Care" will be simultaneously broadcast live as the first "cinecast" in high definition to 27 cinemas and special venues across Europe.
Williams told a news conference on Friday before the mishap his biggest fear was not being able to play soccer anymore.

Robbie's spaced out.

Robbie Williams reckons the Britain will soon be invaded by aliens from another planet. According to The Sun newspaper, Robbie is convinced that we will all be overrun by extra-terrestrials and that we should prepare for invasion. Speaking to Chris Evans on Radio 2, he said "I've been dreaming every night about UFOs. I can't wait to go to sleep at night because those dreams have been so brilliant. "I think they are definitely on their way. Mark my words. From now until 2012 - watch out kids." Robbie also revealed that if he wasn't singing he'd have taken up a career as an alternative healer. "I'd be a masseur and that's the truth," he added.

Robbie Williams in advert campaign for Radio ZET.

Soon we will see the biggest European music star in an advert campaign for Radio ZET. Robbie Williams will be the hero of the new advert campaign for Radio ZET that starts on the 9th of September 2005. Radio ZET started contacting Williams' management in Autumn 2003. "We chose Robbie Williams, because his hits are greatly popular for our listeners, his character fits Radio ZET ideally" said Radio ZET's boss, Robert Kozyra. Radio ZET is the first radio station, that Robbie Williams agreed to advertise. Robbie Williams is also for the first time not talking in English in an advert. Robbie Turns To Tarot.

Robbie Williams has become obsessed with tarot cards - and I've got the pictures to prove it. He is so fascinated by the spiritual world that he has based the artwork for his new album on it. My main picture shows the cover for Intensive Care – out on October 24 – as well as three of the pictures inside the sleeve. In one, the cover picture shows a “sigil” on his fingertip, a symbol which is a magical seal or device. Apparently it can be used to summon angels, demons or spirits – and lets face it Robbie has plenty of those. In another picture Robbie is lying naked with his arms crossed and his eyes closed. It all sounds a bit barmy to me, but he’s obviously found a happy medium (sorry couldn’t resist that one). The artwork was designed by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely who designed comic strips The Invisibles and Judge Dredd. Robbie met them at his LA home and was heavily involved with the symbols and design of his eight tarot cards. Tripping, the first single to be taken from the album. Will get its premiere airing on Chris Moyles Breakfast show on Radio 1 at 8am on Monday. It is released on October 3. Robbie is launching Intensive Care with a gig at Berlin’s Velodrom on October 9. Tickets go on sale on September 5 and I’ll keep you posted on how to get them. The one off concert will be shown on TV in the UK at a later date. The album will be Robbie’s first without his previous songwriting partner Guy Chambers. Instead he worked with Eighties star Stephen Tin Tin Duffy on the CD, and I hear that his label EMI are thrilled with the results.

Robbie Williams in movies.

Robbie Williams might step into John Travolta's shoes for a remake of 70's Disco hit, "Saturday Night Fever". The famous pop singer is rumored to star in a £20 million remake of John Badham's 1997 movie, with original crooners, The Bee Gees, behind it. This year, Brothers Robin and Barry Gibb gain ownership of their back catalogue of hits, according to both The Daily Star and Dark Horizons, "They have always wanted to remake the film and bring out a more modern version and Robbie is the ideal candidate to play Tony - he can sing, dance, is a good-looking lad and has loads of charisma” a friend of the band said. The original film told of the story of Tony Manero, a troubled Brooklyn youngster, whose weekend activities are dominated by visits to a New York discotheque. While in the disco Tony is the king, and the visits help him to temporarily forget the reality of his life: a dead-end job, clashes with his unsupportive and squabbling parents, racial tensions in the local community, and his associations with a dead-beat gang of friends. Travolta reprised his role for the Sylvester Stallone directed sequel titled "Staying Alive" in 1983.

5. Advertising Space (american style)
6. Please don´t Lie (cool but really slow)

Robbie goes reggae.

The new Robbie Williams album will be heavily influenced by his love of reggae, according to reports. "Intensive Care", which is due in October, is to be preceded in the same month by a single that will showcase Robbie's attempt to move away from rock and pop. A 'source' in the Robbie camp told The Sun that the pop superstar would be offering a "modern twist" on the genre with his new material. He explained: "Robbie's been listening to a lot of dub and reggae and was inspired to try it himself. "When he sang it for the first time, those who heard it compared it to a young Bob Marley. He has given the reggae sound a modern twist and his voice really suits the music." Meanwhile, Robbie is said to be about to shell-out £3.5 million on an idyllic country manor in the Lake District, around 20 miles from the home of former Take That bandmate Mark Owen. The house, which was originally a hotel, has nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms and nine acres of land. Robbie is understood to have sold his London home last month.

"Live 8" concerts to fight poverty.

Live 8 Robbie WilliamsFive concerts will take place on July 2 at Hyde Park in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the Circus Maximus in Rome and the Museum of Art in Philadelphia. Under the title "Live 8," the concerts - which will be free - are aimed at raising awareness of poverty just before leaders of the Group of Eight industrialized nations meet in Scotland. Geldof said Tuesday the concerts would be different from Live Aid in 1985. Those concerts - held in London and Philadephia - raised more than $100 million for famine relief. "It couldn't be about charity any more. We knew too much," the Irish rock star told a news conference in London. "We arrived here today because I was very reluctant to do this again, I couldn't see how anything could possibly be better than that glorious day 20 years ago, almost perfect in what it achieved and the day itself." Geldof said the G8 summit presented a unique opportunity "to do something unparalleled in the world, and especially at the beginning of the 21st Century, and that is to tilt the world a little bit on its axis in favor of the poor, and that's not a difficult thing to do." Those scheduled to perform at the London concert include: Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Dido, Elton John, Keane, Annie Lennox, Madonna, Muse, REM, the Scissor Sisters, Joss Stone, Stereophonics, Sting, Snoop, U2 and Robbie Williams.
Among artists set for Berlin are A-Ha, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Lauryn Hill and Brian Wilson. The concert in Rome will feature Faith Hill and Duran Duran, while in Paris the bill will include Jamiroquai, Craig David, Youssou N'Dour and Yannick Noah. In Philadelphia, the scheduled acts are the Dave Matthews Band, Puff Daddy, Jay-Z, Bon Jovi, Will Smith and Stevie Wonder. British Prime Minister Tony Blair has campaigned to help Africa during the UK's presidency of the G8 this year and will host leaders at a summit July 6 to 8 in Gleneagles in Scotland. But campaigners fear discord between G8 nations on debt reduction and aid spending plans, combined with reluctance in Washington, will wreck Blair's ambitions. They warn African schools and hospitals could receive no new money from the lavish summit, which could cost as much as £100 million ($180 million) to stage, Reuters reported. "We are really concerned that we're a long, long way away from any kind of breakthrough on tackling poverty in Africa," said Oxfam policy adviser Max Lawson.

Wax version of Robbie Williams.

Those who have dreamt of getting near enough to Robbie Williams to put a twinkle in his eye, now can, with Madame Tussauds' latest interactive attraction. Yes it's true! As from May 25th 2005, the waxwork museum based in London will now feature a kissable Robbie! Following excessive (wo)man-handling from adoring fans, Robbie’s old figure had been removed from display. All the fondling, caressing and grabbing had obviously left him worn out, ragged round the edges and in need of some tlc. But Robbie's new waxwork is a little bit different than all the rest. It's an interactive figure that just wants to get up close and personal with his doting public... If your puckering skills meet with Robbie's approval, a mischievous "twinkle" appears in his eye. Not only that, but Robbie's hit 'She's the One' also blasts out of the speakers and the kisser's image is projected onto a giant plasma screen!

Rob’s Disc Risk.

LOOKS like Robbie Williams’s days as the golden boy of record label EMI could be numbered. Despite signing a mammoth £80million contract with the music giants, we hear bosses are nervous about his forthcoming album. They are concerned it won’t be a patch on 2003’s mega-selling Escapology. Reportedly called Intensive Care, the record is due for release in the autumn. It will be the first solo album Robbie, 31, has penned without the help of his former songwriting partner Guy Chambers. Advertisement A highly-placed industry insider tells us: "There’s absolutely no question of Robbie being dropped by EMI, but there are a lot of worries about the new album. "People are nervous about what the new material will sound like, especially with Guy Chambers no longer involved. They’re worried it will be an anti-climax. "It doesn’t help that Robbie is so hard to work with. All the people he surrounds himself with are sycophantic "yes" men and women. "No one around him is prepared to be critical and wouldn’t dream of giving him any negative feedback. "Some of the people who have to work on his upcoming campaign are dreading it because they know what hard work he is, but there’s nothing they can do because he’s holding all the cards. "Someone actually said the whole thing was going to be a ’nightmare’." Instead of the award-winning Chambers, LA-based Rob is now collaborating with Stephen "Tintin" Duffy - who has the dubious honour of being the only recording artist in Britain to be dropped by five major labels. Although their first offering, Radio, topped the charts, the follow-up, Misunderstood, only made it to No.8. Earlier this month, Robbie also came a disappointing 91st in a poll to find the Top 100 albums ever with his second solo work, I’ve Been Expecting You. But the international pop star is far from becoming a has-been. In February he notched up a record-breaking 15th Brit Award - four of them were with Take That - when he picked up the Best Song Of The Past 25 Years gong for Angels. A music biz source says: "No matter what the record label thinks of Robbie he’s still the biggest star in Britain." Here’s hoping Intensive Care survives without emergency treatment after all...

New single?

According to the news form other sites, we are informing that there are rumors that all new single of Robbie Williams will be published soon. We still don't know the title and is this is true at all. The style of the songs seems to be like RnB mixed with Rap. Robbie is singing with a man and a women but we don't know theirs names. Here are the lyrics:
[Girl’s singing]
Somewhere, maybe not distant
I’ll be Yours
[Man’s singing]
I cannot sleep
I cannot sleep
[Girl’s singing]
And You’ll be mine
[Man’s singing]
Trust me
[Robbie’s singing]
You took a bad time
I think I have time to spare
You know you want it,
You know you’re nearly there
For some much better to you
Don’t look the places about
The nature of the beasts
Something I got
Why I was in the East
I’m not ugly
But I know I look better with you

Robbie Williams ends feud with songwriter.

Robbie Williams has ended a long-running feud with his former songwriter Guy Chambers, The Sun reports today. The singer lost the friendship of Chambers after signing a £30 million deal with EMI. Guy asked for more money from Robbie, who refused and ended the partnership. A source told the newspaper, "Robbie and Guy have made their peace. They were so close for such a long time that they both found it difficult to forgive and move on. But they are both pleased that they are on speaking terms again." Guy claimed that Robbie became obsessed with money after signing his new contract with EMI. "He was about to sign this massive deal and the money had become so important to him," Chambers said. "Our parting was very acrimonious." Responding to the claims, Robbie said, "It wasn't all about money. There were lots of reasons which gathered speed over the years but I still love him. One day we'll be friends."

Robbie turns Angel in £5M charity drive.

Frustrated campaigners say only Robbie Williams has put his hand in his pocket to support their £5 million campaign for a centre for people with autism. The pop star has donated a total of £60,000 to the North Staffs Asperger and Autism Association (NSAAA) to back its appeal for funding for a residential and respite complex. The cash, two £30,000 donations, has come from Robbie's Give It Sum charity. The NSAAA needs to raise £5 million to make the centre for sufferers of autism a reality and is launching a petition which it plans to take to Westminster. Now the NSAAA wants residents to give their support by signing a petition calling on the Government, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the primary care trusts to provide funds for the scheme. Group chairman Kevin Healey said: "We are fed up with the authorities and we are going to get a petition in place to lobby the Government. "We want to get 300,000 to 400,000 names on the petition. "At present this area is sadly lacking in facilities for people with autism and other learning difficulties. "There are 11,500 people in Stoke-on-Trent with learning difficulties like autism, we believe it is one of the worst areas in the UK. "Yet we don't get the support from the authorities. "In fact, the only person who has lent us any real financial support is Robbie Williams. We have just been awarded £30,000 from his Give It Sum fund. "That is on top of £30,000 we have already received. Robbie gets a lot of bad publicity, but if it wasn't for him and the money he has given us, our group would not even exist. He has been a great support." Mr Healey, aged 30, founded NSAAA, based at Andrew Place, Newcastle, in 2002, after he became disappointed with the lack of support available to sufferers in the county. He has received a letter from North Stoke Primary Care Trust offering to add the association to a list of organisations which could be reviewed for funding during 2005/6. A spokesman for Stoke-on-Trent City Council added: "The city council receives many applications for grants. "If it receives one from the NSAAA it will be considered in full." Earlier this year TV presenter Anthea Turner pledged her support to the appeal. * Call NSAAA on 01782 627002 to donate to the charity appeal.

Another take for Robbie.

Nearly a decade after they split, the Take That boys are putting out a DVD full of unseen footage as part of a Christmas greatest hits package. We revealed last year that Take That singer Gary Barlow - who has written for Blue and Mariah Carey - told us they were planning "something special" for last Christmas. "Robbie Williams has definitely signed up to do it," he said. But for various reasons, the project was put on hold. Now we're assured the five boys _- Robbie, Gary, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald - are all agreed on a December release. A source says: "Gary has loads of tapes of them on tour, backstage antics, unseen interviews and hours of stuff no one's ever seen of the guys messing about. They plan to release it on a DVD along with some of their greatest hits. Gary is the brains behind the whole thing. He's really excited." Sadly, we hear the boys have all ruled out any reunion performance. Nor will they appear together for promotional duties. "It looks as if Robbie will do just one interview but the others will have lots to say," our source adds. So they won't be back for good - just for our Christmas stockings!

The lovely Robbie is helping out Comic Relief again this year.

... by being a sport and donning a pink dress, fake breasts and a curly wig! Remember the last time he wore a dress? Well there was the kilt, the high heels for the T.V. commercial, and the long glittering gold frock for a performance of 'Millennium'. Our Rob's certainly no stranger to his feminine side. Rob is appearing in a special Little Britain sketch, which will be shown on Friday March 11th for the 10th Red Nose Day. Robbie's a big fan of the show, and said of his appearance: "I feel like I've discovered the real me"! In the sketch Rob is looking for men's shop Burtons, and ends up in the ladies' dress shop run by transvestites Emily and Florence. His makeover sees him in a dashing shade of pink, and thrilled with his new look, he skips off singing "I'm a lady". Sir Elton John and George Michael also feature in the Little Britain sketches and the show's old favourite Vicky Pollard makes an appearance on chat show Trisha. (Hope she doesn't do a Lisa Brash on our Rob…!!) The Comic Relief campaign "Big Hair and Beyond", raises money for people in need throughout Africa and the UK. The aim is to get people involved and change the way you look for the day and change someone's life forever. (How about dressing up as Robbie for the day?!) The Little Britain sketches will be available to buy on DVD from Monday 14th of February. You can buy a copy for £4.99 from music store HMV or its website, BBC shops and the Red Nose Day website.

Robbie Williams Pursued Queen job.

Robbie WilliamsThe surviving members of QUEEN nearly invited pop superstar ROBBIE WILLIAMS to replace the late FREDDIE MERCURY as the band's frontman - until they decided he wasn't the best man for the job. Drummer ROGER TAYLOR and guitarist BRIAN MAY claim Williams developed a desire to front the popular rock outfit after recording a version of WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS for 2001 film A KNIGHT'S TALE, and deemed touring with Queen an ideal way of achieving fame in America. Although the prospect appealed to May and Taylor at first, they ultimately decided Williams would be the wrong choice to succeed Mercury, who died from an AIDS-related illness in 1991. Taylor says, "I think America appealed to him and he... I think he was sort of quite keen on the idea at one point, and it did seem like a good idea. "And then I think we all sort of drew back a little - thought about it a little harder, and then thought, 'Maybe not,' you know." May adds, "We got close with Robbie... yeah. Absolutely. Yeah, we talked to him, but not in an auditioning kinda way. We just thought, 'Wouldn't it be fun if we did something.' "We kind of talked about it and talked about it and came close but..." Former FREE and BAD COMPANY vocalist PAUL RODGERS has been recruited to sing for Queen on their forthcoming tour.

Robbie's 'Rock DJ' video made it to number 6 in a Channel 4 .

... viewer poll, for their '100 Greatest Pop Videos' show. The video shows a sexy Robbie surrounded by several ladies on roller-skates. But Robbie finds it strange that they're not paying any attention to him, so he duly strips. Oh what a treat as he peels of his clothes for a delightful striptease! Rob specially buffed up for the video and I'm sure we all agree he looked in good shape, especially with those yummy arm muscles! Yet still the dispassionate skaters and the female DJ ignore him; are they blind?! So Rob drops his tiger-motif knickers and begins tearing off his flesh and body parts, throwing them down to be skated over, or eaten by the skating girls. Eventually it's just Rob's skeleton dancing around on his lonesome. The Channel 4 viewer votes show that the video is up there with greats. The number one video is Michael Jackson's 1983 zombie creation 'Thriller', followed by 80's star Peter Gabriel and his video for 'Sledgehammer', revolutionary for its computer animation. In third place is A-ha with 'Take on Me', and Queen come in third place with 'Bohemian Rhapsody', which is said to be the video that began the pop video revolution. Madonna follows with 'Like a Prayer', a video that risked being banned due to her depiction of Christ and all the burning crosses!
